Wanda Marie George

Wanda Marie George, 84, of Tamaroa, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, December 23, 2000 at her residence.
Wanda was a homemaker.  she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tamaroa, the Fidelis Sunday School Class and had been a Sunday School teacher for 25 years.
She was born February 14, 1916 at Tamaroa, the daughter of James Wesley and Katherine (Koenegstein) Rice.  She married Virgil A. George on August 14, 1975 at Tamaroa and he preceded her in death on July 9, 1977.
She is survived by a son, Darrell George and wife Agnes of Tamaroa; daughter, Charlotte Riddle and husband William of Hazelwood, Mo.; sister, Lola Heape of Tamaroa, three grandchildren, Debbie Seidenstricker, Tom nd Neta Riddle, Ray and Janet George; five great-grandchildren, Bradley, Bryant, Brandon, Brianna and Tiffany and one step-great-grandchild, Brandi.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Janet; two brothers; two sisters and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2000 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Raymond Baggott officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Interment was in the Tamaroa Cemetery.
Friends may make memorials to the Hospice of Southern Illinois Blue Group at Herrin.
